Can I recommend: Thin Places - by Chip Furr.

Thin Places is a term associated largely with the Celtic tradition and in this book Chip explores those sometimes surprising collisions between the Human Spirit and the Presence of God.

In the forward, Mark Batterson writes: 'As you read of his unexpected encounters with the divine, I believe you will find hope for your own journey. No matter what kind of "place" you find yourself in today, I'm convinced God can meet you there. There are Thin Places waiting for you...maybe today, maybe not.. Just open your eyes and your heart -- and get ready! Most of life's adventures are discovered in the Thin Places. You know, those faint, indefinable moments where we sense something beyond ourselves is at work.'

Chip writes in an easy to read and engaging narrative style and each Chapter (called 'Entry') ends with some searching questions to prompt your own thoughts or for group discussion. Interestingly, the publication has been picked up by army chaplains in the US as a means to help those serving in the forces.

Chip is a friend who I have worked with over the past 6 years or so in developing sports ministry through Basketball - he heads up an organisation called Climb (http://www.theclimb.org) based in Charlotte, North Carolina and is undertaking relief work in Haiti.
