Prayer Spaces in Schools

Details

Prayer Spaces in Schools enable children and young people to explore their faith and spirituality in a safe, creative and interactive way.

The Prayer Spaces in Schools website has a range of flexible resources which can be adapted to work for Foundation Stage children through to Sixth Form students, bringing an experiential dimension to RE, Citizenship, PSHE, SEAL, SMSC and pastoral aspects of school life.

You'll find step-by-step guides to creating a prayer space, case studies, how to form a team, and more.

What they say:  Whether you're a teacher, a Christian schools worker, a member of a local church with a passion to encourage children and young people, even if you're a pupil in a school, we'd like to encourage you to consider setting up one of these Prayer Spaces in your school. From what everyone has said so far, they really do work. They enable children and young people to explore spiritual themes, to reflect on their big questions about life and existence, and to consider their own thoughts and feelings and actions in relation to others, all in simple, non-threatening ways. And, of course, they help us learn how to pray.
