Details
Onelife has a vision to raise up transformational leaders in the UK. It is headed up by Pete Wynter who was formerly a Youth Minister in Chorleywood. The Diocesan Youth Service encourages any young person to engage with ONELIFE as we know they will grow in their relationship with God and in understanding their role as leaders within and outside the church. We actively look forways in which we can engage with and support the work of ONELIFE.
The vision of ONELIFE provides a real challenge to how we see working with young people today with tomorrow clearly in mind.
"We want to see the church, government, businesses, education and public services seasoned with strong, godly committed leaders. These leaders all connected by similar values, a biblically inspired character and passionate about using their one life to change the state of this country."
Working mainly with 14-21 year olds and in partnership with local churches, ONELIFE runs Young Leaders' Conferences across the country to train, equip and inspire young people, Learning Communities to develop character and lots more to empower the next generation of leaders to make a difference with their ONELIFE.
Its core values are:
We have a Word and Spirit theology. We carry an expectancy for both the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to shape, lead and guide us in all that we do. A deep relationship with Jesus and following his example is the motivation for all that Onelife does.
It's all about church. We're not interested in doing something separate to Church, but for Onelife to be resourcing young people to be connected in their local church context, active, grounded and bringing change in their local communities.
We want to impact the UK. Our main focus is to inspire and train leaders to reach every sphere of the UK. We believe that if leaders in this country are properly trained and supported, then the rest of the world will be resourced as a result.
Relationship is important to us. We believe that the best leadership is learnt relationally and often ‘caught' rather than ‘taught'. We value accountable, honouring and deep relationships in all we do.
Character is more important than gifting. We are convinced that servanthood and humility should be the benchmark of leadership.
Doing things well. We want to aim for excellence in everything we do, but never at the cost of the presence of God.
