Lucinda has experience in setting up youth clubs and believes that communities should pull together to provide what is needed in our neighbourhoods.
'These days adults worry about young people on the streets. Young people say they are on the streets because there is not enough to do. Here's what maybe considered an old-fashioned solution to the problem: adults take it upon themselves to set up youth clubs that give the kids a place to go, something to do and good role models to be with. In time this may bring on young leaders who understand about volunteering and participating in community live. It doesn't require a government initiative, huge funding or even a paid youth worker, it simply needs a few adults to take the initiative that will make the difference.'
