The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty.
The DFID are led by a cabinet minister, one of the senior ministers in the government and isdetermined to tackle poverty around the world. Teachers and learners across the UK, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America are discovering that working together through their global school partnerships brings the big global issues into the classroom, creating new learning opportunities and interactions.
