Ok, I know this isn't doesn't quite fall under the 'Opportunities' element of our website, but this looks such a great resource we thought we'd include it here anyway.
Run by All Nations Christian College, 'en route express' is a programme of essential training that covers the basics of cross-cultural mission. It is aimed at those who are considering cross-cultural work but have little or no previous training.
You will benefit from exploring a wide range of topics such as developing a full understanding of culture and its implications for our life and work, the Biblical basis for mission, current trends and contemporary approaches in mission, exploring the spiritual disciplines, understanding poverty and development, keeping healthy, working as a team, and a whole range of practical issues from friend- raising to practical and creative skills workshops such as car maintenance and first aid.
The course is delivered as a short residential course, or online. The residential course is five days, usually at All Nations Online, the course is 20 hours and delivered through lessons, discussion forum and a downloadable workbook.
The next online course is running 22nd February - 19th March, at a cost of £150.
The next residential is running 13th - 17th April, at a cost of £325 (including full fees, board & lodging).
