Using a range of styles Jason kept us engaged throughout the day considering various aspects of life for young people and how we, as the whole church can work together to meet them and support them. Some ideas sheets were produced which can be obrtained from the office. Out of all of it left with the challenge of how we change hearts to want to work together, that's all ages. As we discussed it is not always the oldies that are the blocks, but we have to find ways of meeting each other, relating to each other and recogising all we share as part of the kingdom.
Inevitable mentoring was discussed and there is a real challenge here for members of the church to be available to get alongside young people and help them navigate the issues of life today.
The day, once again raised for me the whole question of what is church, when are we doing church or not doing church, but in the back of my head it is about how we hold it all together, not to keep a neat parcel, but so that we are, under God One Body. How we build good relationships between the different worshiping parts of the congregation and service times.
Finalk strand through it all - in a world where choice is the name of the game, how do equip people to handle choices well and not just settle for the lowest possible options.
yes, a right jumble of thoughts, but stuff to keep me thinking and musing for some time to come.
