Greetings from our new DYO

I wanted to drop you all a brief note in my first week with you in St Albans. It's good to be here - finally!

I appreciated meeting a fair few of you at the Youth Workers Retreat at Turvey Abbey in June which was a great event. I have valued your prayers and hope that this will continue in the coming days also for you and the work you are doing with young people in Christ's name. This ministry post will only be as good as the communication, relationship and partnerships we forge together for the Gospel. I hope I can offer each of you something that will be of use in your work from the experiences I have in ministry and outside. Also I am looking forward to learning from you too!

If you haven't connected with the office as of yet, or maybe need to re-connect for whatever reason, let's see if we can meet together as soon as is practical. I am happy to come to you initially just to get a feel for your context and hear from you. Please contact Julie if you would like to meet so that I can create space as you are a priority in my work from the outset.

I pray that we might discover the ‘underground stream' that Bishop Paul expounded to us from the life of David - Together. It will be interesting.

Look forward to hearing and meeting with you over the coming weeks as a key part of my induction. Please keep a check on the website as I hope this will be a useful hub and maybe get some ideas about how we can utilise this better.

Finally, for any of you going to Soul Survivor, Shepton. I am aiming to do this for a day in Week B. Please let me know so that I can connect with you and the young people whom you serve at the event.

Looking forward to living God's love out in the relationships and work we do together.

Yours in Christ

Dean

p.s.  Note from Julie - I apologise to Dean as I've just added a photo of him which he may (or may not) appreciate!
