It was a joy to re-connect with colleagues from across England and Wales and the gifted people of various experiences that make the whole as a network working for the Church of England with young people and those who connect with them at various levels.

Status and Standing

This weekend, sport-wise it was all about two clubs within the ring of the M60. Two colours, red and blue. The prize - the final day of the Carling Premiership and the Cup of Champions as shown in the image. As I observed via twitter and listened to the national football phone in, one thing that was undeniable was the passion for those who this meant so much.

Discerning dread!

This week the recruitment and selection process has been brought to my attention by being involved practically in the process of recruiting and selecting a parish youthworker. A demanding process of discernment underpinned by prayer, realities and conversations. It was a learning experience for all concerned. An appointment has been made and now the rubber hits the road!

This week, I have managed to take a short break with the family to the south west - 'the edge' of these islands. Cornwall is very much my place of pilgrimage. It was the place as a tweenager I came from home and made my Christian commitment 30 plus years ago at a Houseparty that shared the power of the Easter story.
