CEYC April Meeting: Holy Trinity, Coventry

Hello Everyone!

I think I would be speaking for most people, if not everyone, in saying that Saturday's CEYC meeting was a really great day.

We had some interesting and thought provoking discussions on some of the key issues affecting young people and young adults today. It was good to be able to share experiences with one another and to reflect together on the importance and relevance of the Bible in the difficulties we may face. It was also a good opportunity to encourage each other that even when things feel hopeless, as Christians there is always hope and how our Christian faith should be at the heart of our response to the challenges we may face.

In March, Regeneration Youth Summit took place, supported by the Church Army and The Archbishop of York Youth Trust. This was a gathering of young people, young adults, youth workers and bishops together exploring how to get more younger people into Church. CEYC spent the afternoon listening to feedback from Regeneration and sharing examples of good practice in increasing youth participation and in mission to younger people and looking at possible ways in which CEYC can support the on-going Regeneration initiative.

CEYC agreed to support the Pledge, drawn up at the Regeneration Youth Summit, a copy of which can be found here: http://www.regenerationsummit.org/

We all left with lots to think about and it would be really great to hear from you if you have any thoughts relating to the issues facing young people/young adults or ways in which the Church is engaging or can better engage with younger people. Please do comment this blog or get in touch with the Youth Office.

In Christ,
Rebekah
